🏴 Friday’s Scottish football gossip – McKenna unlikely for Celtic, Andersen chase heats up, St Mirren sweat over keeper and Rangers prepare for a summer clearout.
🍀 Kieran McKenna drifts away from Celtic links as Premier League interest grows. McKenna has Ipswich second in the Championship, playing fearless football, and Premier League clubs are circling. David Ornstein says he expects McKenna to be in the English top flight next season. If Ipswich go up, he stays. If they don’t, he still has suitors. Celtic’s long‑shot option just got even longer.
🔵 Silas Andersen back on Köln’s radar as Rangers and Wolves lurk. Rangers made an enquiry in January, Wolves like him, and now Köln are back for the BK Hacken midfielder. The Swede is seen as a potential replacement for Eric Martel, who Celtic want. Hacken rejected bids in the winter and want big money for the twenty one year old. A proper transfer scrap is brewing.
⚫ St Mirren fear Shamal George will miss Celtic semi final. George rolled his ankle at Celtic Park and is now a major doubt for Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi. Ryan Mullen is in pole position to start at Hampden. McLeish says he is confident either way, but losing George is a brutal blow.
🔵 Rangers preparing for summer exits as Rohl reshapes the squad. Rohl has dragged Rangers from chaos to title contention and now wants a squad built in his image. Ben Davies is expected to leave when his contract expires, Leon King could follow, and more departures are coming. The German will be backed, but the clearout comes first.
❤️ Hearts await Oisin McEntee scan results as Spanish camp continues. McEntee’s hamstring scan came back in Spanish and Hearts are waiting on the translation. Harry Milne is stepping up training, Tomas Magnusson is unlikely to return this season. McInnes says half his starting outfield players still need minutes to hit full fitness for the run in.
🟠 Dundee United hit with double injury blow as Stephenson and Fatah ruled out. Both loanees have suffered hamstring injuries and are expected to miss the final five games. Stephenson was being eyed by Rangers, Fatah was a candidate for an extended loan. A nightmare moment for Goodwin as United chase a strong finish.
